\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThis was an era when the entire world was facing the threat of World War II and the Great Depression was in full swing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nPeople needed to believe in superheroes, and The Flash was one of them.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nDuring the Silver Age of Comics, DC introduced a reimagined version of The Flash, i.e., the character of Barry Allen.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBarry was born Bartholomew Henry \u201cBarry\u201d Allen in Fallville, Iowa, to <\/span>Henry and Nora Allen<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHe had a twin brother who was declared stillborn, but in reality, he was healthy and given to a family whose child died at birth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAs a kid, <\/span>Barry loved to read comic books<\/span><\/b>, especially the adventures of his favorite superhero \u2014 <\/span>Jay Garrick<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBarry\u2019s life turned upside down when he was 11.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHis <\/span>mother Nora was murdered<\/span><\/b> and his <\/span>father was convicted of the crime<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThis traumatic event left a lasting impression on Barry and <\/span>defined the course of his life<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHe believed his father was innocent, so he decided to become a <\/span>forensic scientist<\/span><\/b>, hoping to one day solve his mother’s murder and clear his father’s name.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nIn college, Barry majored in organic chemistry with criminology as his minor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhen he was a senior, he helped local police catch a bank robber, then got an offer to join the <\/span>Central City Police Department’s Scientific Detection Branch<\/span><\/b> as a scientist.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nBarry excitedly accepted the offer since the job meant he would move to Central City, which was right across Keystone City \u2014 the hometown of his hero, Jay Garrick.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nUpon his arrival to Central City, Barry fell in love with <\/span>Iris West<\/span><\/b> \u2014 a reporter who was covering a murder Barry was investigating.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAs a forensic scientist, Barry was known for his scientific expertise, precision and attention to detail.
