This type of lead is easy to build, but also erase when you\u2019re unhappy with some details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>An HB pencil:<\/strong>\u202fA \u201cmedium-hard\u201d hard lead leaves a darker trace than an H pencil. This makes an HB pencil good for making some lines slightly darker than others and gently shading your drawing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A B pencil:<\/strong>\u202fFor shading, we recommend a B pencil because of its super soft lead that leaves the darkest trace of the three.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A kneaded eraser:<\/strong>\u202fThese erasers are a good choice because it\u2019s easy to customize their shape. Its bottom side should be in line with that of the middle circle.<\/p>\n<p>You should leave some space between the two circles, but don\u2019t overdo it as you don\u2019t want to mess up the proportions.<\/p>\n<p>As for the circle in the back, <strong>its position marks the length of the dolphin\u2019s body in the back<\/strong>. Later on, you\u2019ll attach the tail to it.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the top of the dolphin\u2019s body is <strong>slightly curved<\/strong>. That\u2019s why you\u2019d want to position the back circle lower than the other two.
