This is what inspired the name of Simone\u2019s website and its contents. On the site, she lists<\/a> all female comic book characters that had been killed, raped, or tortured in any way in comics.<\/p>\n As a woman and a comics buff, she questioned the reasons why male characters died as heroes, while female characters seemingly served just to move male characters\u2019 plots forward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Needless to say, Women In Refrigerators<\/em> caused a lot of fuss among fans and in the comic book industry as a whole.
